12 | THE COLONY NEWS | JANUARY 2023 | The Communication and Technology Committee did not hold a meeting during December. However, we are looking ahead with anticipation to the activities of the coming new year! We will be continuing a number of our projects — particularly the Outreach to History interview series and creating a new website for The Colony. We are also excited about the new subcommittee we are developing, Marketing Outreach. Its first challenge will be to create two brochures, one for The Colony and another for the Communication and Technology Committee that will serve as a template for flyers for other committees and clubs. With the addition of seven new members, we anticipate that we will be able to continue advising the Board of Directors on communication technology that will benefit all of us. COMMUNICATIONS By Greg Hill ACCESS CONTROL & SAFETY By Bruce Hartwig, 951-696-5115 The Access Control Committee receives monthly reports and statistics from Community Patrol (Nordic Security). These reports include traffic enforcement, emergency responses, and incident reports. The monthly report from Community Patrol indicates the following activity and violations that Nordic Security responded to and/or assisted in keeping with the safety and welfare for the Association. Security Statistics for November 2022: • 17,376 Jackson gate entries • 11 Property/Residents checks • 25 Stop sign violations • 1 Speeding violation • 38 Medical, fire and police incidents • 19 Parking violations • 94 Trash can violations* • 21 Garage doors open • 169 Miscellaneous incidents *Although Security will not assist in putting trash cans out and/ or putting them away, we know there are many residents who are unable to do so within the timeline allotted. If this is the case for you, please call the HOA office, 951-677-4341, and ask for Colleen Morrison. Notification will be given to Security so that you do not receive a citation. BECOME A MEMBER! Our committee is looking for new members. If you are interested, pick up an application to serve from the HOA staff.
