| OHCC LIVING | JANUARY 2023 | 33 The RV Club sponsored trip held just before Thanksgiving is traditionally close to home and has the largest attendance of the year. It is designed to be an R & R time before the onslaught of the busy year-end holidays. This year it was held at the very comfortable RV Resort adjacent to the Pechanga Casino in Temecula. RVers and WOWs were welcomed with a Happy Hour followed by a variety of delicious and creative pizzas made at the RV park by the men of the URBN Pizza truck. A charming and talented local dance instructor then helped everyone hone their Western and Line dancing skills in the club house, which provided a lively end to our first day. Those interested arose well before dawn to take a morning hot air balloon ride soaring above the Temecula Valley. Frigid morning temperatures aloft and bright skies added to the adventure. Later that day many elected to take a winery tour. They were transported from the RV park by the tour operator who had converted a historic Cable Car into a party bus. They sampled wines at three of the many Temecula Valley wineries, had lunch and enjoyed each other's company for a several hours. The historic buildings and specialty shops in Old Town Temecula are a fun area to wander and explore. All met for dinner served in a private room at Baily's Old Town restaurant, not far from the resort. Chico's manager was kind enough to open her store early and present a private fashion show and sale for our RV club. The well-attended function featured a discount and some snacks. Jerry Moscovitz led the golf players for a round at Temecula Creek Course, while Kathy Moscovitz organized 40 attendees in creating festive pumpkin and succulent table center pieces back at the campground. Some chose a tour of two craft breweries to sample specialty beer. A stop was also made at an interesting spirits distillery making bourbon and vodkas, many fortified with flavors. On the final full day, a morning hike at Wilderness Garden Preserve and a delicious turkey dinner, with all the trimmings, was enjoyed in the festively decorated club house. After a leisurely breakfast and chat the following morning, the rigs and campers headed back to OHCC. Do Dues Day on Jan. 14 is a good time to join or renew your membership in the RV Club for 2023. Next regular meeting is Jan. 24 in Abravanel Hall. Upcoming events are the February Luncheon, March 4 - 11 Mexican Cruise, and April 4 - 7 Guajome Pop-Up. Join us! RV Club
