Bray, Jr. Bob's family is sad to announce his passing on November 14, 2022 after a valiant battle with dementia. He was the devoted husband of Ruth Bray and the loving father of Diana Bray. Bob was born in the original Kaiser Hospital in Fontana on September 18, 1946, and spent his childhood years in Colton, where he was active in sports. He attended Colton High School, then Citrus College, Cal Poly Pomona, Azusa Pacific and UCLA. Bob served two tours of duty in Vietnam, on a mine sweeper and on a river boat. His time there left a huge impact on his life. After a short stint as recreation director in the Walnut School District, he went on to become a credentialed high school teacher and taught science at Baldwin Park High School. His great love of teaching was appreciated by his students, many of whom remained friends. He won "Outstanding Teacher of the Year" and also received a science award from JPL. He volunteered for the "Teacher in Space" program. A major event in Bob's life was a trip to Russia in 1995 to adopt his daughter Diana, who was six at the time. Diana became very close to her father, and greatly enjoyed the vacations taken with her parents. In 2014, he and Ruth moved to Sun Lakes from Diamond Bar, and became active in the Drama Club. He and Ruth played sweethearts in a play soon after their arrival. Bob thought of Sun Lakes as a special resort and loved living here. He will be dearly missed by friends and family. George Flath, 87, died on November 9, 2022 at Sunrise of Plano in Plano, Texas, of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. George came from a family of 10 and was the seventh child born August 10, 1935. George worked on a family farm which instilled the importance of a strong work ethic. George was inspired by his brother- in-law to pursue a career in the Lathing trade in California after high school. Not long after starting his career, George was drafted by Uncle Sam to serve in the army for two years. When George returned from the army, he continued his career in the lathing trade. During this time George volunteered for the construction expansion of Salem Lutheran Church in Whittier, CA where he met Sandra Clemmer. George and Sandra began to date and after five months, they married on December 31, 1960. In their years of marriage, George and Sandra were blessed with three children: Melinda, Wesley, and Cynthia, and six grandchildren: Claudia, Carl Jacob, Robert Flath, Morgan, Wade, and Hadley Williams. George and Sandra had many fun times with their grandkids. George would often kid around with all his grandkids and would make us all laugh while he would be laughing with us. George visited during the holidays and special events in the grandchildren's lives. George loved his children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, a loving father, and a loving grandfather. George had an extensive career in the commercial plaster and drywall industry for many high-rise buildings in Los Angeles and Orange County. He retired in 1999 but returned three years later as a Field Superintendent to restructure the plastering division for another company. At the end of 2003, George retired and moved to Sun Lakes. George and his wife made many friends at Sun Lakes and started the Breckenridge Dinner Club which is still going today. George is survived by Melinda and her husband Bruce Spurling, Cynthia and her husband Jeffery Williams, and their children, Morgan, Wade, and Hadley Williams; daughter-in-law Katherine (Wesley Flath) and children, Claudia, Carl, and Robert Flath; George's younger brothers Gordon Flath and Clarence Flath.
