26 | LIFE IN SOLERA | FEBRUARY 2023 |
I hope that everyone had a safe and
healthy start to 2023. Looking back on 2022,
in December at the Solera Sippers Christmas
party our club provided the opportunity for
members to donate to a wonderful charity:
The Ronald McDonald House. This is a
caring charity that does so much for families
during difficult times. I am extremely
pleased to announce that we collected
$1,645, and we thank those members that
so generously provided their support. I
also received a donation from our DJ, Chuck
Hornsby after the event. The Solera Sippers
Executive Committee had the pleasure of
presenting the club's donation in person
to the staff of the Inland Empire Chapter
located in Loma Linda and tour the facility.
They were extremely appreciative, and it was
a very heartwarming experience; one that
all of the members that donated should be
very proud to have made possible.
Our January event was a "Chinese New
Year" that was enjoyed by all that attended.
A delicious array of Chinese food dishes
along with a trivia game and prizes made
this a fun event.
Our Feb. 11 event is a "Red Rose Valentine
Celebration." This will be an elegant event
that is not to be missed.
Looking ahead to March, on the 18th we
will have our "Annual Membership Party"
that will provide new members to join,
and current members the opportunity to
renew their membership for April 2023 to
March 2024. Look for more information in
upcoming issues of Life In Solera and on the
Solera Sippers page on the Solera Oak Valley
Greens website.
Please note that in addition to upcoming
Solera Sippers events, membership
guidelines and applications are available on
the Solera Sippers web page. You can access
the web page by going to the "Recreation"
heading and then go to "Clubs and Groups."
Wine Trivia: Sangiovese, Italy's most
planted wine grape, is the dominant grape
in Chianti.
