Ladies Golf By Judy Lebovitz, 951-461-0065 Men's Golf By Sam Currie, 951-461-0801 The CMGC's 2022 Award's Dinner was held in early December and a very enjoyable evening it was! Our special thanks to our Social Director, Randy Meyer, for making all the dinner arrangements, and to the Fleischer family, with Gloria supplying those special table centerpieces and Hank providing us with a great selection of door prizes. By the way, quite a number of these door prizes were donated by local businesses. Of course, the main point of the evening was to recognize the winners of the various Golf Club tournaments held throughout the year and present their awards. The two major tournaments were the Club Championship and the President's Cup, but prizes were also given for "closest to the pin" and "lowest number of putts." And the winners were: A special mention of Mel Rich, who not only won the "lowest putts" award (24 putts over 18 holes) but also, as you may note from the above table, had a "Hole in One" on Hole #15. Something well worth celebrating! Congratulations to all the winners. So why not join in the fun and become a member of the CMGC? Contact George Herrera at 760-533-0350 for membership information. Happy New Year to everyone. Here's hoping for a happy, healthy, safe and peaceful 2023! Our first tournament of 2023 was a rain out, but we did have a great meeting with our new Board taking over. After a delicious lunch and social hour, our tournament director gave out year-end awards (golf balls and money) to the lucky winners. We were supposed to have the Aces of Aces Tournament that day but due to the rain-out, it was postponed. The Back Nine Chair also gave out prize money for events including Low Putts, Most Chip-ins, Closest to Pin, etc. It was a nice celebration to start our new year and we hope to have a fun and successful year to come. If you are interested in playing either nine or 18 holes, join us! Contact our Membership Chair, Peggy Clendenen, at 951-696-2169. We hope to see you on the links! 30 | THE COLONY NEWS | FEBRUARY 2023 | Year-end stats as of Dec. 31, 2022: First Place, Primavera Kids: Jay Schodrowski, Jamie Calvert, Gloria and Hank Fleischer.
