The Chorale has already started rehearsals for their upcoming concert in May. Our rehearsals are every Thursday from 10:15 am to 12 pm. If you'd like to join us, you can just show up at one of the rehearsals in February. We're excited to have a fresh start and begin work on this next concert. The theme is "Let's Go To The Movies!" We're also looking forward to having our guest artist concert. We're pleased to let you know that last year our community supported this new venture wholeheartedly. So many of you took time to communicate your appreciation for bringing a variety of performances to our community. Thankfully, our Audio-Visual Club supported all of the Choral Society's events. 2022 was an intensely busy year for them. These people do so much for our community. Without them there would be no performances at all. If you know someone who is an active member of this club, please let them know how much their service is appreciated. Here's to a year filled with beautiful music! 12 | OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2023 | Theatre Arts At a glance… • Feb. 1, 8, 15, and 22 – Encore Players • Feb. 6 – Sneak preview of "The Dowagers" • Feb. 15 – Board meeting • March 6 - Malone Academy of Irish Dance Thanks to your participation, Do Dues Day was a huge success! Thanks to all who either joined or renewed your membership. We're looking forward to accomplishing our mission: To provide live theatre to our residents — and we will! Our Program Coordinator, Lisa Malec, writes, "If you fancy yourself a wee bit of Irish, you won't want to miss our Theatre Arts show on Mon., March 6! The Malone Academy of Irish Dance will mesmerize you with their brilliant footwork, their unbelievable timing and their love of all things Irish. San Diegan, Michelle Malone, is a highly trained Irish dancer, teacher, and adjudicator, and she'll be bringing the best of the best dancers to our stage. The Malone troop includes beginner dancers as young as five, intermediate dancers who are still in training, and world class dancers who have medaled at the Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne, the World Irish Dance Championships! Bring your tam-o'-shanters, your shillelaghs, and your Irish spirit to this amazing and delightful program. And as they say in Ireland: Cead Mile Failte!" Lisa promises to bring us exciting and enlightening entertainment this year, including singers, dancers, comedians, theatre and storytelling. Keep your eyes, ears and email open for details! Sally Benton's Encore Players' classes are on Wednesdays at 1pm in the Mykonos Room. Sally writes, "…. I know all of you have other clubs you belong to, but I am in hope that many of you will make this a part of your schedule. If you cannot commit to every week, that is okay, too. My mission is to provide some fun theatre things without the stress of memorization, etc. Some of you I have not seen in a long time, but I wanted to let you know that you are welcome to come and join us. I also feel we could accommodate those who can't come each week but still want to be a part of "The Encore Players" vision. So, let's add some music, too, for all you music buffs. Please come and offer your suggestions." Please contact Sally (moki2@cox.net) for information. From Page to Stage. Duke Sertitude thinks no one can resist his charms.
