March is always an important month for the Solera Sippers Wine
Club. The Club is on a Fiscal rather than Calendar Year schedule that
goes from April of the current year through March of the following
year. In March, current Solera Sippers members have an opportunity
to renew their membership. Additionally, it is the opportune time
for new members to join and enjoy our fun events for the next 12
months. While you can join the Sippers at any time during the April
thru March Fiscal Year, the membership fee is not prorated.
Traditionally, in March we have our "Annual Membership Party"
and, like our "Annual Christmas Party" in December, these two
events are always planned as special events. This year the "Annual
Membership Party" will be held on March 18.
If you wish to become a member of the Solera Sippers, the yearly
membership fee is $20 per person. This allows members to attend
all events during the 12-month April through March time period. In
addition to the membership fee there is an additional cost per person
that varies for each event to cover catered food services, music and,
depending on the event, prizes.
We also plan free, member appreciation events that are covered
by the membership fees. Additionally, the membership fees also
subsidize our events to keep the event cost down while still being
able to provide our members quality and fun events.

Wine Trivia: George Washington and Thomas Jefferson attempted
— and failed — to grow grapevines in Virginia. Luckily for them, they
had other careers they could fall back on.
