| LIFE IN SOLERA | MARCH 2023 | 35 This group is made up of generally men, but women are always welcome. Our focus is on conversation and friendship. We meet every Wednesday in the Clubhouse between 8 and 9 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. It is typically a group of 10 to 20 people. We are led by a facilitator who ensures that everyone will have the opportunity to talk and encourages conversation. We have very interesting and diverse conversations. There are countless benefits you'll enjoy by joining this group, and they can vary from person to person. Come and check us out, and feel free to bring your favorite coffee mug! COFFEE GROUP BON APPETIT CLUB Bon Appetit held their first meeting of the new year on Feb. 3. With the Super Bowl being the week after our meeting, we held our own Soup-er Bowl competition. We started by having a commitment of four competitors sign up to having a total of 10 by meeting day. All the entries were delicious and everyone left quite full at the end of the day. Our 3rd Place Winner was Terry Commeans with her Chicken, Rice and Lemon Soup, 2nd Place was Joyce Utterback with her Tortellini Soup and the 1st Place Winner was Pat Parker with her Minestrone Soup. Each winner received a large soup bowl containing a Stater Brothers gift card. Thank you to all who helped set up and clean up. A special thanks to Cindy Bice who helped scoop 520 plus cups of soup, Sandi Joel who took pictures, and Terry Commeans who always shows up early to help. Starting at the March meeting we will have sign-up sheets for members willing to help setup or cleanup at the following month's meeting. Our membership drive was a big success. We had 57 new or returning members join prior to our first meeting and an additional 5 members joined the day of the meeting. You can still join by contacting Bianca Ralston at kbsyiayia@aol.com.
