| OHCC LIVING | MARCH 2023 | 33 Taking advantage of winter rates, the RV Club made the first trip of the year to nearby Newport Dunes RV Resort. Some enjoyed a boat ride around the Bay on a soggy day, visited the Bay Nature preserve, biked to Balboa Island and/ or went to a matinee movie one rainy afternoon and then out to a restaurant for an early dinner. An early April Pop-Up trip will keep us close to home at Guajome County Park on the Vista/Oceanside border abutting Route 76. While this is a popular Day Use Park, there is also a rustic shaded campground for RVs. The County has recently completed an extensive rebuild of the electric and water systems to keep the park up to date with current RV needs. The park has a nice network of hilly walking trails used also by horse riders. Ducks and geese dabble in the fishing pond area and wander in the reeds of the adjoining marshlands. At the end of April, into May, a large group will be setting out for a few days to enjoy the wine country and attractions of Paso Robles. They will then continue to travel up to Petaluma and include a day trip into San Francisco by public transportation. It should be a memorable trip with a nice contrast of activities. Future trips include the late May, Bishop Mule Days festival celebrating the contributions of the mule in the taming of the west. Late August is scheduled for a five day stay up in Lake Tahoe. The next Membership meeting will be March 28 in Abravanel Hall at 6:30 pm for trip sign-up and 7 pm for the business meeting. RV Club Inspiration Hill As we walk the trail at Inspiration Hill, we are always impressed by the varied community inspirations as expressed on the Donor Bricks. The trail begins by honoring our pioneer OHCC Founders, and continues with those who so bravely served us. There are bricks honoring family members, beloved pets, and favorite universities. What is your inspiration? The HOA continues to take orders for your own personalized bricks. Fill out an order form at the HOA office, and include a check for $75. Your inspiration brick will help line the trail to the top of the hill! Photo by Al Fried
