| OHCC LIVING | MARCH 2023 | 35 Happy March to the OHCC community. Spring is right around the corner. And aren't we all ready for it after this cold and wet winter? Papercrafters are in full swing in class and create days at the clubhouse and on Zoom, and our brand new members began their papercrafting journey last month. Welcome to our new Group five members: Gail Alfonso, Yvonne Barnum, Donna Bearman, Karen Chavez, Emma Chung, Nancy Combs, Maura Cossarek, Kim Curl, Sharon Doyle, Myra Kruger-Esler, Jacqueline Ettinger, Jan Feintuch, JoAnne Miller, Janeen Sheelen, Sue Silva, Donna Steffen, Donna Stone, and Marcia Ward. 20 new members. Wow, I think that's a record. They'll be meeting in the Art Room one day a week over the next six months learning to make beautiful card creations using special techniques under the expert tutelage of Rhonda Anchales and Irma Ojeda. Happy crafting ladies! Welcome to our club. For those of you who want to know more about our club, stop by the Art Room when you see one of our groups in action. We love it when people come by to see what we're up to. Please enjoy the accompanying pictures of what some of our members have been up to lately. To our members celebrating birthdays in the coming days, congratulations on completing another spin around the sun. Your birthstone, aquamarine, is a beautiful pale blue-green gem. Its name comes from the Latin aqua - water and marine - sea. Ancient legend has it that the stunning translucent stones were the treasure of the mermaids. Spiritualists believe that aquamarines have healing and calming powers and sailors of yore carried them for protection against misfortunes at Sea. Wear 'em if you got 'em and a very Happy Birthday to you all. Heidi Kuhn, Kerry Peyton, and Allison Vincent. Above are some photos of cards our members have made. Want to see more? Pinterest has spring cards to view. Remember to send cards to those you love this month. There's got to be something to celebrate, reminisce about or a reason to reach out. How about a St. Patrick's Day Card or Happy Spring? And Easter comes around in early April. Better get the bunny stamps and dyes out.
