Our meetings have moved! Our next meeting is on May 4 (there
is no meeting in April), and you will find us in the Mykonos room,
which is our new monthly venue. It is larger and can accommodate
our group more effectively. Again, welcome to all our new members
that help us to continue our community work… not to mention the
other really fun stuff!
April brings two free workshops for sewers. On the 15th, we will
be making soft-sided boxes that can hold your treasures… jewelry,
thimbles or whatever you consider appropriate. On the 20th, our
philanthropy gets going again when we make the bags that hold the
trains for our Camp Pendleton kids. Both workshops are from 9:30
am to noon in the Sewing Room.
Don't forget about our "rideshare" service to meetings and
workshops. If you are interested in attending the monthly meetings
or any of the workshops and have no transportation, please call
Sharon Philippe at (760) 500-3086. We have a list of volunteers who
will be happy to get you to and from the event.
Our Kneedlers and Hookers gather on Tuesdays from 3 to 4:30
pm, and are always looking for excuses to practice their knitting and
crocheting. They would love the opportunity to make "chemo hats"
for residents or family and friends of residents. Please contact Terry
Chamberlin at (760) 419-4055 or MaryLu Belisle at (952) 454-1931
for more information. Also, on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 pm and Fridays
from 12 to 3 pm several quilters, knitters, crocheters and sewers
get together for "Sew & Chats." Both of these gatherings are loosely
structured, and help to keep us in touch.
If you are interested in participating in our activities and are not
sure who to reach out to for further information, please call MaryLu
Belisle (952) 454-1931 for more information. Also, please visit our
website http://ohccsewing.wixsite.com/ohccsewing.
