| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2023 | 17 The fun we had at our second annual Valentine's Day Celebration at Emilio's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina on Feb.14 is reflected on these smiling faces. And of course, the elated look we all get when our flowers start blooming is expertly demonstrated here in child-like fashion! We enjoyed our first road trip of the year in March, traveling south to the fabulous flower fields in Carlsbad. Viewing the stunning green hills and roadside wild flowers was like driving into a beautiful postcard. In addition, highlights of Japanese Flower Arrangements and sharing lunch together made for the perfect spring outing! Also in March, several of our members attended the Four Seasons planning meeting in the Ballroom, getting ready for the 20th Anniversary Celebration on Sept. 23. For many of us, living within this wonderful community for 20 years is truly to be celebrated. Our excursion to Sunnylands Center & Gardens in Palm Desert was still in the planning stages as of this writing. Stay tuned to eBlasts regarding date/time for this Historic Annenberg Estate visit. Our Club is forever growing, and we love to have residents join us. Our regular meeting in April is on Mon., April 10, 1 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. Sharing gardening tips, traveling together, learning from each other, and cultivating forever friendships are the blooms growing in our gardens. Late Bloomers meets the second Monday of the month at 1 pm, usually followed by an excursion planned later in the month. All residents are welcome to attend meetings and trips. For information, please contact Sharon Deuber at (760) 500-0077 or Sharon@BlackDiamondInvestments.net. Late Bloomers Garden Club Golf Cart Club February was another quiet month for the Golf Cart Club. The only scheduled posting of flags was for President's Day. In a related discussion with Chuck Farr, I discovered that Dave Mann has been anonymously helping Chuck with the flags for the past four to five years. Thanks Dave! A big thanks to Hank Schultz who filled in for Ginny Cole-Weaver for President's Day. Hank, Kelly Collier, and Cheryle Patterson have been invaluable substitute Flag Angels. On several occasions, they have graciously stepped forward to fill in when one of the Angels cannot post flags, often with very little notice. I can always use additional volunteers to serve as back-up Flag Angels. If you want to help, please call me at (951) 973-4149 or email me at mikemcla43@aol.com. ~ Mike McLaughlin
