FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2023 49 At the end of March, the Club held our field trip to Big Morongo Canyon Preserve. Good weather made it a fine day for photography. It was our second field trip and a chance to photograph a unique and striking area. At our April monthly meeting, we covered two areas. First, we covered the composition photo challenge from the last meeting. We reviewed the photos submitted using Fill the Frame, Patterns and Repetition, Center Dominant Eye, Symmetry and Asymmetry, and Figure to Ground. The second part of the meeting began with a review of traditional camera gear and photographic techniques, including hands-on use with our own gear. It was a time for us to learn from each other. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting. It will be on May 4 at 6:30 pm in the RCN. We continue our twice-a-month, Work- Study Group Zoom meetings. If you have a photography question, you are welcome to join us. Contact Jacque Sneddon for meeting times and dates for the Work- Study Group. This month's photographs are examples of the unique photos submitted by our members. The first is the group at Big Morongo Canyon. The next is a flower by Jacque Sneddon, and finally, a black and white by Jameer Ali. If you have yet to receive our emails, contact Jacque at jacquesneddon@gmail. com. She will be happy to add you to the mailing list. ~ John Baeyertz, johnbz1453@gmail.com Photography Club Seasoned Solos The Seasoned Solos group experienced a slower than normal month. The weather was the biggest factor and kept most of us at home. However, several enjoyed some of the planned fun. First on the calendar was a Sunday afternoon at Sunnylands Center and Gardens in Rancho Mirage. The Center is showcasing live music programs, and the performance and weather were wonderful. A yummy dinner followied at Babe's BBQ Restaurant. Lunch at Domenico's Restaurant was the next event planned to celebrate birthdays from February. The group enjoyed good food with friends. The last activity was attending Andrea Bocelli's movie e Journey at the 2nd Street Cinema. Everyone enjoyed the special engagement film which was so fitting for Easter. We have had some rain-free days recently and the afternoon temperatures are up a bit so we should be busy in May. We all hope you will join us at our next meeting on May 5 at 6 pm in The Lodge Arts & Crafts Room. Please call Joyce Olsen at (951) 980-3055 or Nyla Cheely at (951) 285-7112. Happy spring! ~ Nyla Cheely Howard Levine, Bill Christelman, Tom Olsen, Jameer Ali, Warren White, Jacque Sneddon Jacque Sneddon – Flower Jameer Ali – Black and white of couple walking
