34 | THE COLONY NEWS | JULY 2023 |
The Roadrunners have had two great trips this year and
have a third one coming up. Our traveling season began in
March when 16 campers and glampers left the rain behind
and headed to the sunny skies of El Centro to enjoy the
resort and its facilities, which included pickleball, golf and
dancing. For St. Patrick's Day we had a festive celebration,
when we loaded into the back of Sharon Smith's decorated
truck and joined the resort's parade, followed by a corned
beef dinner and green beer. While we came back into the
rain on the trip home, we surely enjoyed our few days of
sunshine, camaraderie and laughs.
Next up was a trip to Paso Robles, and there were 11
Roadrunners who enjoyed wine tasting, golf and the Field
of Lights. For an icebreaker, everyone had fun with the
"Two Truths and a Lie" game (with the object to guess
which was the lie), and then we partied with our own Cinco
de Mayo potluck, including a piƱata.
Our next scheduled trip is to Mammoth Lakes in
September. If you're interested in more information about
the trip or our RV club, contact Leo Alonzo at (714) 473-
