FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2023 23 An inspection of the area east of the windmill, which is sometimes called "The F Trail," was conducted on June 6. The extensive rains of this winter have encouraged early and extensive growth in the area. Particularly important is the rapid growth of grasses in the open area and undergrowth in the creek bed. In addition, there are numerous broken tree limbs. There appears to be a significant concern about wildfires throughout California and our conservancy fits the narrative. Residents need to be super cautious in walking the trail, especially with guests who are not aware of our situation. ~ Len Tavernetti, ltavernetti@hotmail.com Conservancy Rocket here. It has been a while since I wrote an article for the Breeze, so let me reintroduce myself. I am now three years old, and I am a chihuahua/husky/Jack Russell terrier mix. I love running free in the Canine Corral, especially if there are some of my canine friends there. The play equipment is so much fun with ramps and steps to climb and tunnels to run through. The picture with this article is me playing with one of our newer members, Indy. Play times can be any time from dawn to dusk at the Corral, but we have set times each week for members to get together when other dogs will be there as well. It's much more fun if I can run with my friends! During the heat of the summer, we meet at 7 am on Saturdays and Sundays. Remind your humans to contact other members to set up additional play dates if these times don't work for them. We had our Spring Yappy Hour last month at the Corral to encourage new membership. It was a great success. Please encourage your human companions to get your membership so you, too, can enjoy the freedom of an off-leash area and socialize with all the other dogs in our wonderful community. It is good for our humans also. All it takes to become a member is for your humans to pick up an application at The Lodge, fill it out, attach the documentation requested regarding sterilization status, vaccines, city license, homeowner's insurance (just to show that the policy does not contain any breed exclusions), and, of course, a selfie of you. We now have 40 canine members of the Corral, and I hope you will consider joining our fun group. Hope to see more of you real soon at the Corral! ~ Rocket, lynnj92223@gmail.com Canine Corral Council Social Committee We will be off July and August, but we will be back on Sept. 16 for an exciting event — Tribute to Barbra Streisand: Hello Gorgeous! Tickets go on sale Aug. 14 at 9 am in The Lodge Ballroom. We will give you more information in the August Breeze. Have a great summer and be safe. We appreciate everyone's support. ~ Loretta Ramsey, lorettaramsey@aol.com, (714) 803- 6744 (L-R) Indy and Rocky playing
