Art challenge: complementary colors:
This is the next in a series pairing opposite
colors on the color wheel/spectrum. These
pictures are painted with acrylics, three
versions of the same image using all three
sets of complementary colors.
This is the perspective of the artist Linda
Rau: I have always appreciated a good challenge but this one
really challenged me. We were asked to complete three paintings.
Each was to use a pair of complementary color schemes of: red
and green, blue and orange, and yellow and purple. I chose this
mountain and field scene since I had wanted to paint it anyway.
I almost gave up, but Rob encouraged me to finish them. I have
attended Rob Kelman's art class for the past four years and would
like to think I'm getting better. With Rob's help, I am getting
more confident. You do not need any prior drawing or painting
experience to attend this class. Many that have started have
blossomed into incredible artists.
Classes are Mondays from 10 am to 12 pm and/or Wednesdays
from 6 to 8 pm. There is a nominal $5 fee per person, per session.

Seasoned Solos
If you are single and enjoy a variety of activities, then Seasoned
Solos might just be the group for you. At each meeting we discuss
what is going on in the Inland Empire and plan activities, from
local lunches and dinners, to excursions to presidential libraries,
the Redlands Bowl, Metro Link trips into LA, and the beach train
to San Juan Capistrano. There's not much that we won't consider
doing. We meet on the first Friday of each month in The Lodge
