FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2023 51
On the evening of May 13, paddle tennis enthusiasts gathered at The Summit for their
Around the World Potluck. This event was organized by our local paddle tennis group,
which has been promoting the sport and bringing players together for years. We welcome
our newest player, Joe Rovere.
Several of our player chefs provided amazing dishes for all attendees. I have to say, Gordon
Ramsey would be impressed with the cuisine from around the world. Food, drinks, dessert,
music, and laughter were enjoyed by all. The event was a great opportunity for players and
family members to socialize and connect with one another, and it was clear that everyone
was having a great time.
We encourage everyone who is interested in the sport to come join us. Whether you're a
seasoned pro or just starting out, there's never been a better time to get involved in the world
of paddle tennis (aka Pop Tennis). Today, paddle tennis continues to be enjoyed by players
of all skill levels. It combines elements of tennis and racquetball, offering a fast-paced and
exciting sport that is becoming increasingly popular not only in the U.S., but also around the
world, e.g. Argentina, Sweden, Netherlands. Congratulations to St. Augustine Beach on their
50th National POP tennis tournament. They play on the white hard sands of St. Augustine
beach during low tide.
