52 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2023 Happy Fourth of July from Four Seasons Pickleball players! We had our Spring Fling tournament and lunch on a beautiful day in May. A fun time was had by players and spectators alike. Each winner also received cash gift cards and tournament vouchers. Congratulations to all of our tournament winners! Our very popular 50/50 raffle winner was Julie. Come on down and check us out weekdays and Saturday mornings starting at 7 am. We are a fun, friendly, and supportive group offering beginner classes Saturday mornings at 9:30 am. Hope to see you on the courts. ~ Yundell Montalbo- Linton, yundell@aol.com Pickleball I am thrilled to announce that the newly formed Spin n Slam Table Tennis Club has officially been launched. In an effort to describe this gaggle of Ping Pong fanatics who are preordained to make this club a roaring success, one could take a page directly from the movie, e Godfather. Firstly, there's Rony the Slammer, who will rear back and smash any ball that you hit too high or lands near the end of the table. Secondly, we have Ben the Spinner, who uses his penhold paddle grip to deceptively hide which direction the ball is spinning. If you think you've guessed right, FUGETABOUTIT! Then there's Alan the Ankle-Breaker, who has no problem hitting the ball toward the left of the table when he sees that your aging legs are rapidly moving in the opposite direction. Finally there's Mitch the Reach, who uses his prodigious wing-span to put his paddle on any ball, regardless of where it's hit. It's these folks and many others who meet up at The Courts on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings to enjoy a game that many have been playing since they were kids in junior high school.
