As this is being written in early June, the memories of our moving Memorial Day Concert still linger — thank you, Vintage Voices. We honored those who gave the maximum sacrifice so we can celebrate our July 4th holiday. Our nation was just born when John Adams made a prediction: "It will be celebrated with pomp and parade, bonfires and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other from this time forward forever more." Let us celebrate July 4th and reflect on how fortunate we are to live in our community within our great country. As we approach our 20-year anniversary of incorporation, we have become an established community. What we don't want is to become complacent. Our prior Boards of Directors set an example of working to make Four Seasons a desirable place to live and do what is best for all the residents. Your current Board seeks to build on that foundation. We have recently formed a focus group, made up of residents and Board members. By definition, a focus group is a method of research involving a small group of people who are guided through a discussion by a moderator. e focus group will explore several different issues, test solutions, explore the group's perspective of a problem, and generate ideas. By having residents and Board members working together, we can determine how to maintain and improve the quality of life we want in Four Seasons. We look forward to seeing the results of this project. Another item of note: Your Board has an obligation to help all residents, especially those who live alone. We approved and have made available an Access Policy & Form. e purpose of this policy is to allow an owner or resident who resides by themselves to inform the Association of who is allowed to access our community for the purpose of accessing their residence. It is meant to protect the resident and avoid any confusion should such owner or resident become deceased or unable to access their residence for a prolonged period. If there are questions regarding this policy, please contact Rick or Mari at e Lodge. At the July Board meeting, representatives of Southern California Edison (SCE) will make a presentation and be available to answer questions. As we know, Four Seasons has experienced power outages the past two anksgivings. is was acknowledged in an information flyer sent by SCE which most residents received in the mail in early June. We encourage you to attend this Board meeting to get information on PSPS (Public Safety Power Shutoff ), how SCE is trying to reduce power outages, and what customer support programs are available. Have a great month of July! "Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred." ~ Martin Luther King, Jr. "Government of the people, by the people, and for the people, shall not perish from the earth." ~ Abraham Lincoln Message from the Board of Directors 2 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2023 | Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Barbra Balser, Cliff Post, Tony Criscenti, Roxy Snider, Fred Kydd, and Mary Reyna Jim Crase President
