| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2023 | 7 Facilities Committee In previous Heralds, the Facilities Committee reports gave the reader an idea of what this volunteer group's accomplishments have been and what ideas it has for the future. is month's article represents two members' submittals, one from a long-standing member and one from one of our newest members. Why volunteer? Here are some reasons: • Volunteering provides physical and mental rewards, it reduces stress and makes you healthier. • It provides valuable community services so money can be spent wisely on community projects and improvements. • Uniting people from diverse backgrounds, building camaraderie and teamwork. • It strengthens your community. • You learn a lot. • You get a chance to give back. • Volunteerism is an investment in your community, neighbors and friends who live here. • You can make a difference. From Rick Adkins. "I've been a volunteer on this committee for over 10 years and I have decided to resign to let someone else have this experience. I want to thank the Board of Directors, Management company and my fellow committee members for this opportunity." From Tim Polder: "Being the newest member of the Facilities Committee, I have found it very interesting on how the members take care of all the issues that arise. e committee members discuss and research all the different options to ensure the most practical and cost-effective results." e Facilities Committee also coordinates with other committees such as the Landscape, Bistro and Access Control so we can coordinate our efforts on any potential issues or projects that may arise. e committee also welcomes input from residents about any potential issues, or items the residents would like addressed. Please join us at the meeting, your input is welcome. Our committee has several projects we're looking into: e Lodge front entry fountain remodel, improvements to our roads, exterior painting of e Lodge and better solar lighting. ese are only a few of the long-term projects that the Facilities Committee is looking into. Our committee has quite a large task of keeping this community looking and functioning as well as it does and I'm proud to be a part of the Facilities Committee.
