Right aer the Pet Parade, it was Karaoke Night in the Auditorium. ere was a good crowd – about 120 folks, with over 20 singers, from Kenny Chesney to the Righteous Brothers to Tina Turner and ZZ Top. It was a lively and energetic group, and it was great to meet a lot of our newer neighbors. at's the point of Karaoke in the Colony – come, meet friends and neighbors, and have fun. It was also the penultimate night for DJ Bonnie Graham. For August, please note the change of dates. Because Candidates Night is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug.15, Karaoke will be on the first and fourth Tuesdays, Aug. 1 and Aug. 22, from 6:15 to 9 pm. Everything else is the same: • Open to everyone, including folks who just want to sit back and enjoy. It's free and guests are welcome. Have a drink, share a snack. BYO everything. If you want to get a timely reminder for each gathering, send your email to Jeri Huestis at jjhuey@aol.com. • If you want to sing, send your song choices to Connie O'Brien at obriencr@verizon.net. • If you want to see the list of available songs, send an email request to Ken Luekens at kluekens@gmail.com and he will help you out. Hope to see you soon at Karaoke. Don't miss out! e June class painted a beautiful flamingo. It was a loose abstract, wet into wet with a salt technique to add interest, and everyone went home with their very own masterpiece. Once again, we met our goal to have fun and create something beautiful. We welcomed three new people to the class, and I urge all of you who have never painted to join us. We just ask you to bring your own art supplies. We meet on the last ursday of each month in the Annex from 9 am until 12:30 pm. Please call me at 818-667-1766 with any questions you have. I look forward to seeing all of you on Aug. 31. Keep painting!
