e June tournament had 44 golfers attempting to capture a win in one of the two flights of the A&B Format competition. Mother Nature was very giving for an enjoyable outing. An exciting note: Linda Peterson made an "EAGLE" on the 12th hole. As the course improves, some fairways are still under repair and the J&J tournament shortened the fairway to hole number 12, which normally is a four-par hole. Linda took full advantage of that adjustment, teeing off from the 100-yard maker and holing her drive for her team to score a "one!" Wow, that is one for the record books! When the tournament was over, the following posted winning positions for the contest: Winning Teams "A" Flight 1st: 43.643, Mike Tsumura, Debbie Johnson, Joe Jaramillo and Barbara Crosdale 2nd: 46.256, Larry Determan, Vicky Cornille, Rich Brown and Linda Peterson 3rd: 47.659, John and Anita Hoetker, Jerry and Pat Caldera "B" Flight 1st: 43.023, Bob Miller, Marge Pierson, Malcolm Grant and Sherry Roberts 2nd: 46.403 Bill and Susan Connelly, Leo Alonzo and Sharon Smith 3rd: 48.000 Leo Pasco, Peggy Clendenen, Karen Nichols and Connie Vanderbyl Closest to the Pin #5: Women, Anita Hoetker – 4'2" / Men, Charles Craven – 47'0" #15: Women, Denise Sturm – 10'2" / Men, Robert Sturm – 12'0" #16: Team #18, Larry Determan, Vicky Cornille, Rich Brown and Linda Peterson – 8'4" e Darwin Award went unclaimed in June. We tee off at 7:30 am for the next two months and hope to avoid the worst of the heat. We are still undecided if we will have our annual charity tournament in October, but either way we will be donating to our two charities, Hospice of the Valley and Michelle's Place. We will still have our luncheon and will invite guests from the two charities to join us. We have such a nice group of ladies who play either 18 or 9 holes each week. If you are interested in joining us or need information about our club, please contact our Membership Chair, Peggy Clendenen, 951-696-2169. Hope to see you on the links!
