46 | OHCC LIVING | AUGUST 2023 | Golf Club June was a busy month for the Golf Club. Summer was heating up and so were some exciting competitions on the links. On Mon., June 12 Touring Amateurs returned to the always tough tract of St Marks/e Links at Lakehouse. Here's a list of some of the big winners that day. Closest to the pin was claimed by James Guy. John Jarf, Nigel Nelmes, Bill Nordberg, and Mike Stern shot some great golf to win lowest gross for the event. Flight 1 low net winners were Alan Ballard, Jim Mulvey, Paul Starkey, and Wayne Worsley. Flight 2 winners were Craig Cameron, Bill Gillen, Steve Lambert, and Dan Wilkerson. Flight 3 winners were Mike and Annette Guillory, Suzanne Hall, and Mary LaForte. Flight 4 winners were Al Colson, Carol Dergan, Richard Farr, and Phyllis Skall. Nice job everyone! e Fathers' Day Shotgun and lunch happened on Mon., June 19. anks to Debbie Machnick and her volunteers for providing the geezers a great tournament. And thanks once again to Bob Bechill for taking these super-professional photos of some of the day's highlights: Dave Russell, the ugly tee shirt winner. Yep, that's a pretty nasty tee shirt! Bernie Alfonso, closest to the pin winner. e handful, too many to mention, chipping contest winners, some celebrating with a brewskie. And the whole crew getting ready to tee off. e last big tournament of the month Guys and Dolls occurred on Sat., June 24. Some of the hot shots that day were closest to the pin champs Mary LaForte and Greg Cies. Magic circle gurus were Guy James, Joe Gallice, Ken Spencer, Tai Ming Lien, Charlotte St. Laurent, Jacquelline Ettinger, Lynne Fuller, and Marilyn Vetlesen. Congratulations.
