32 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2023 | Sun Lakes Follies At our last Follies meeting, President Joanne Graham confirmed our 2023 Sun Lakes Follies Cast members and they are ready to perform. Many singers, dancers, comedians, musicians, and other entertainers picked up their "Important Dates" sheet and submitted their music and other acts to get the ball rolling into "rehearsal mode" for August and September. Sun Lakers, you are in for a treat! The theme for this year's show is "How Do You Get To Carnegie Hall? Practice, Practice, Practice!" which will be Fri., Sept. 29, Sat., Sept. 30 and matinee on Sun., Oct. 1. If you are new to Sun Lakes, you don't want to miss this yearly show that everyone talks about. More information as to ticket sales, etc. will be announced next month. On Aug. 13, The Friendship Club presents "Drew Harrison – In the Spirit of Lennon," a tribute to John Lennon, and an interpretation of his music. Harrison captures the intensity that Lennon brought to the Beatles music as well as his own. As a solo artist, Harrison has performed in Europe, South America, and in the states. His abilities as a multi-talented performer have earned him fans throughout the world, and his critically-acclaimed solo release, "Go it Alone," has enjoyed robust success. Drew has also found time for stage, TV, and film. He completed a degree at UC Berkeley, adhering to a simple philosophy of "living life fully, and giving back when one can." Sun Lakes residents are invited to join the Friendship Club and enjoy Vegas-style entertainment up close and personal. Membership fee is $25 per person for the year. Tickets for each show are $25 for members, and $30 for non-resident guests. Doors open at 6 pm with open seating, and the show begins at 7 pm.
