34 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2023 | Chorale Hello, all you past, present, and future Chorale members! To those we haven't seen for a while, we miss your voices, fellowship, and smiling faces, and we look forward to seeing you again. To those we haven't seen since the Spring Concert, we look forward to getting together again. To those we haven't met yet, we look forward to meeting you. Please come and join us on Sat., Aug. 12 for our Chorale potluck picnic from 12:30 to 4 pm in the South Clubhouse. The Chorale will provide fried chicken. All members and prospective members are welcome, so if you love to sing, come to our picnic and check us out. At the picnic, we're having a white elephant, regifting, tongue- in-cheek, FUN-raiser auction. We invite you to bring things for the bathroom, things that are red/white/blue, stuffed and ceramic animals, things for golfers, or nice miscellaneous stuff to donate to the cause. It will be fun. Please RSVP by Aug. 6 to Lvieira@eltree.com so we'll know how much chicken we'll need. Our Librarian, Laura Kosla, is retiring from the Board, so we need two people to step up to share the load and take her place. She'll train you. We need you ASAP to help pull the music for our upcoming holiday show. Since the break-in at our storage unit, we desperately need a five- drawer metal filing cabinet for music storage to replace the one that was destroyed. Contact Donna at d.g.kissling@gmail.com or (951) 282-1087 if you have one available. Since 2012, the Chorale has sponsored local acapella harmony groups (see photos above) in an exceptional summer afternoon musical presentation. This concert will take place in the Sun Lakes Ballroom on Sun., Aug. 20 at 3 pm. Open theater seating tickets are $10 per person and will go on sale in the Main Clubhouse lobby starting Mon., Aug. 8, and will be available Monday through Friday from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm until Fri., Aug. 19. Tickets will also be available at the door. If you would like to help sell tickets to this event, please contact Joe Shaw at rce1025@aol.com. For more information about the Chorale, contact Linda Vieira at lvieira@eltree.com. Do you like to sing? Join our Barbershop Chorus! Sheet music and learning materials are furnished to help even the novice enjoy the experience. You can sing in this men's chorus or enjoy a quartet experience with three other guys. We all have a song in our hearts waiting to come out. For info, call Jim Langford at (951) 769-6065.
