The Pass Action Group held a remarkably successful Town Hall on June 25 attended by approximately 200 people while many others watched on Channel 97. Below is a synopsis of the meeting but first we would like to acknowledge the word of the day: "PHENOMENAL." The PHENOMENAL support both financial, verbal, and political has at times been overwhelming. Since the inception of the Pass Action Group, the support of Sun Lakes Country Club, Four Seasons, and other areas of the community has been… PHENOMENAL! Although the Board of Directors has taken the lead, without the support of the community we would never have reached our goals. We are fully prepared for the Nov. 17, 2023, hearing with Judge Harold Hopp. Here is a synopsis of YOUR Town Hall meeting: • The Pass Action Group Board of Directors was introduced. • County Supervisor Yxstian Gutierrez attended and said a few words, once again, expressing his opposition to warehouses in residential neighborhoods, specifically those areas with sensitive receptors, like our community. • Supporters were encouraged to contact our state representatives in support of stopping warehouses in residential areas. State Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh: (909)335-0271 Website: https://ochoa-bogh.cssrc.us/ State Assemblyman – Greg Wallis: (760) 346-6342 Website: https://ad47.asmrs.org/ • Diane Berley explained that there is a possibility of appeal from either side. We may appeal or they may appeal. We will evaluate all options after Judge Hopp makes his ruling. • Randy Robbins discussed our financial situation. Legal fees to date have totaled approximately $260,000 and ALL invoices are currently paid. Our attorneys anticipate approximately $25,000 to get us through the hearing and ruling from Judge Hopp. Making or answering an appeal would likely incur another $15,000 to $25,000. We currently have approximately 90 percent of the total in the bank. Donations are still being accepted to ensure we do not run short. Donations can be sent to: Pass Action Group 4832 Crenshaw Circle in Sun Lakes. Make checks payable to Pass Action Group. • Dorrie Gartzke was thanked for her efforts on the recycling program she initiated. Her motto is, "If you can drink it, she can recycle it." Her donations from this endeavor have totaled over $10,000 and continue to increase monthly. Recycling can be dropped off at 6029 Spanish Trail Cove in Sun Lakes. Once again, the Pass Action Group would like to thank every one of you for your PHENOMENAL support.
