When you find it, fill out the box and email it to sunlakesnews@yahoo.com before noon on the sixth of the month (or drop it off in the Main Clubhouse). If you are the first correct guess chosen at random, you will win a free dinner. Congratulations to this month's Dinner Winner: JOY BAILEY Please call Kelly in the Admin. Office for your Sun Lakes Restaurant dinner. While the rack and inversion tables exist or existed, you are stretching the truth with adding discs. Victor G. e whole joke was hysterical including the graphic but I'd rather just wear heels! Nora B. I wish? Joy B. Nothing like a good stretch before exercising! Gerry P. I don't want to be any taller. I bump my head on short shelves enough already. Desmond D. I wish it did exist but we all know we can't "Fool Mother Nature." We are meant to shrink with age unfortunately, so I'll just have to live with it. You got my hopes up there for a second. LOVED the creative thinking (and wished it would work!). Rob T. Not sure the added inches would be worth what you'd have to go through to get them Sharon R. I think I need the rack - I've lost two inches already. LaVerne P. I love living in heavenly Sun Lakes. Mel O. Will I get smarter as well on the inversion table? Bernice S. Since many of us have gotten shorter with age, the problem is compounded. Sign me up! Julie M. your comments: GET THE JOKE! I found the joke! Resident name (first & last): ______________________________________ This was the joke: _____________________________________________ Comments (we LOVE your notes - about anything!): ____________________ __________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________ Send your entry to sunlakesnews@yahoo.com or drop it at the Main Clubhouse Last month's joke: From Courtney, the publisher: Do you have a collection of something? Salt & pepper shakers? Stamps? Animals wearing hats (my favorite)? About 30 years ago, I was living alone in a small, one-bedroom apartment and realized I had three dining room tables. I was accidentally collecting dining room tables. I've since pared down to two. These days, decluttering is important to me so I have to watch what I collect. Last year, I jotted down words I came across that I didn't know or knew and didn't use enough. For Christmas, I shared the list of 17 words with family and friends. This year, I'm collecting with intention. My son got me a journal and so far I've filled it with 79 words (and a couple of phrases). I try to use the words but it's hard to work in "bivouacs" (temporary shelter) or "eidetic" (vivid, precise visual memory) in social settings without making people slowly back away from you. Maybe that's why I don't get invited to parties. Hmmm. Some words soak into my spongy brain and pop out unexpectedly. For example, I decided a long time ago I was only going to complain about the heat and spent the whole winter explaining to whoever would listen that I'm not complaining about the cold and rain because I decided I was limiting my complaining season to summer. This is an example of apophasis (noun): the raising of an issue by claiming not to mention it; sneaking an issue into a discussion while maintaining plausible deniability. I was so excited when I learned that word and realized I could apply it to my life. I ran and told Tim that I made an important connection with one of my words. He smiled and said, "that's nice." I think he's just glad I'm not collecting dining room tables anymore. GTG (Grow Taller Group) We recently formed GTG as a companion group to TOPS (above). Several members realized that perhaps we weren't overweight, just undertall. After much research, we have implemented a series of methods to grow taller. These include: • Inversion Table: Hang upside for three to seven hours daily • Spinal Disc Surgery: Add discs, add inches! • The Rack: A medieval device that stretches the whole body (at right) So if you have plateaued in your weight loss journey, join us on the road to growing taller. ~ Elastic Man, (909) 797-3647
