| LIFE IN SOLERA | AUGUST 2023 | 31 This group is made up of generally men, but women are always welcome. Our focus is on conversation and friendship. We meet every Wednesday in the Clubhouse between 8 and 9 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. It is typically a group of 10 to 20 people. We are led by a facilitator who ensures that everyone will have the opportunity to talk and encourages conversation. We have very interesting and diverse conversations. There are countless benefits you'll enjoy by joining this group, and they can vary from person to person. For more information about The Coffee Group, please contact George Vawter at (909) 253-3318 or via email hbwisenheimer1@yahoo.com. Come and check us out, and feel free to bring your favorite coffee mug! COFFEE GROUP The Solera Sippers sure know how to have fun. As mentioned last month, free food for our June bocce ball event was provided by Raisin' Cane's chicken (courtesy of the club) and there was fierce competition on the courts as well, as 16 teams battled it out for bragging rights. July's Progressive Wine event was held in the Oakmont Rooms for good reasons. It was more convenient (no traveling between member host houses), and it's air conditioned. As always, it was a lot of fun. August will be a relaxed Happy Hour/Movie Quote trivia contest. September will be another enjoyable "wine centric" event, with wine tastings provided by Gerard's Market in Redlands. We have more fun events planned later in the year also. Our club is open to anyone – whether you drink wine or not. We are the largest "club" in the community, and it's largely due to the great events, fun and fellowship we promote. Wine could have something to do with it also. Wine fun fact: Wines have so many organic compounds in them, they are more complex than blood serum. Membership is required if you are a Solera resident. For membership or other information, please contact Gary Stoh at (951) 845-1981 or garymstoh@aol.com. SOLERA SIPPERS Rookies Dave & Mary Jane James came from behind on every bocce game to take honors. e prize for the winners… wine of course!
