| LIFE IN SOLERA | AUGUST 2023 | 41 GOLF CLUB The 2023 Solera Golf Club Championship was a two-day event in June. Round 1 was held at The Country Club at Soboba Springs where first round leaders for Low Gross were Dale Foley (+2), Mike Davis (+5), & Bob Umeck (+8). In Low Net, Merele Chapman (-8), Marty Anderson(-3), & Dave Duncanson (-1) were atop the leader board. Round two moved over to Oak Valley Golf Club which produced decidedly higher scores for most golfers. Foley persevered and despite an 11 on the fourth hole fought his way back to claim the Low Gross Champion. On the net side, Chapman continued his solid play to win Low Net by an "outrageous nine shots," according to Tournament Director Jim Parker. After play finished, the Club held a BBQ for those golfers that competed in the Championship at the Anderson's house, who graciously hosted. The Club provided burgers, beans, and potato salad. The club thanks Ed Young who was kind enough to donate two cases of Modelo Especial beer for the BBQ. We closed out the month of June with a Twosome Best Ball game with Dave Sampson and Tom Hamerla carding a (-8) winning the event. Now that the hot weather is here, we will begin playing at 7 pm.
