48 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2023 Quilting Enthusiasts Wowsers, has it ever been HOT. Recently I was in Alabama visiting my grandkids, daughter-in-law, and son, and it was 102 degrees while I was there. The worst part was the humidity that they have there. Here in lovely Beaumont, 102 is very hot, but as they say, "it's a dry heat." I guess it's time to crank down, I mean up, the thermostat in my house from 74 to at least 78. At least I have ceiling fans, which help. I do have to say one thing … it's time for more sewing! Sewing, that is, under the A/C vent. Maybe it's pool time, or a trip to Big Bear Lake; it all depends on your definition of cool. I'm heading to the Long Beach International Quilt show this week. I'll share some pictures for the September Breeze so watch for those. ~ Mary M. Moody-Cox, marymoodycox@gmail.com Ceramics Class Happy August! It is lying on a California King bed, for a size idea. It's called a One Block Wonder and the actual fabric used is in the border. Each Hexie is different. Great photos make stunning quilts, like this photo by Daniel Forster, showcasing the poppies of Arizona this past spring
