Feel free to inquire about volunteering or any other function of the Library Committee. Jean Dobson is our volunteer coordinator and she'll be there to answer any questions. Our regular meetings are the first Tuesday of the month at 11 am in the Main Clubhouse Bus Room. We will meet next on Sept. 5. Hope to see you there. And a reminder that the guidelines for donating books are on the Sun Lakes website under Library Committee. Library Advisory Marketing & Communications Advisory Are you ready for some football? It's time again for Monday Night Football. The Marketing and Restaurant & Lounge Advisory Committees are excited to announce the re-opening of the Sandwedge Bar & Grill. The tradition continues, but this year, Monday Night Football will be held in our new and improved Sandwedge Bar & Grill. Come down to watch the Bills battle it out with the Jets. The game is Sept. 11 at 5:15 pm, doors open at 4 pm. The Sandwedge Bar & Grill now has a full-service bar with two bartender stations, and two new big screen TVs behind the bar, plus the three screens surrounding the Sandwedge. You will be able to see the game from anywhere you sit. Of course, there will be a ready supply of your favorite beverages on hand. The full lounge menu will be available plus some tasty little New York surprises. Football trivia returns as well with prizes. So come out and enjoy food, friends and fun and support your favorite team at our Sandwedge Bar & Grill. See you there! The next Welcome Home event will be Sept. 28 from 5 to 7 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. If your club or group would like to participate and share information with the new residents please contact Jason Ewals in Administration. The Marketing Committee is working on a plan to help market the Repair and Replacement Replenishment Fund for new home buyers. The fund is used to repair or replace assets that have either come to the end of their life or have become inoperable. This fund is NOT used for general operational expenditures or for capital improvements. To establish this would be a change to the CC&Rs and voting is required. This committee is working on marketing ideas to get our residents to vote on this when it is placed on the ballot this fall. We know we need a 75 percent approval rate from the voters. If approved, this could increase our annual income for the HOA by $300,000 to $400,000. There is NO cost to existing homeowners. This assessment has been successfully implemented in other HOA communities. We will be having town halls, videos, and information in Lifestyles and in newsletters. This is a benefit to all of us. We want to make sure all of our residents are aware that this is a necessity. There will be more to come in the following weeks and months. ~ Chairperson Michele Walter, (951) 202-8009
