We provide a forum for our Board to publish articles of interest to the community and for Management to keep us up to date on SDV current events, including lifestyle events. Members work with our clubs and groups to ensure information in the magazine is reliable and current. We also attempt to inform, perhaps amuse, by the articles we submit. All residents of the community are encouraged to write articles for submission as well. Over the years we've had recipes, recommendations, cultural, or just fun, events and travel ideas submitted. e committee charter allows for seven members, each serving a two-year term. Our meeting is on the last Tuesday of the month at 10 am in the Lodge. is year we are looking for four new members to replace a member whose tenure is up and to fill open positions. If you are interested in joining, please fill out a Volunteer Interest Form (found on our website or in the lobby) and submit it to Management. With the crisp air creeping in we have a packed event schedule in October, there is truly something for everyone. Join us for a night of food, drinks, fun, and games at this year's Oktoberfest Celebration. We will have appetizers, beer (German and domestic), a baked potato bar with a variety of toppings, and games. Bring your stein or boot to show off. You won't want to miss this fun-filled evening. Join your friends and neighbors for a refreshing Root Beer Float at the Mountain View Lodge. is is a free community mixer so make sure to sign up before Sunday, Oct. 8. e U.S. is facing a national blood shortage, so if you are able, please consider donating blood at our Red Cross Blood Drive. One pint of donated blood has the potential to save up to three lives. You can register to donate by following the QR Code on the flyer, through the Red Cross app, or at http://redcrossblood.org. Don't miss Night of Illusions with Anthony "e Magic" Hernandez. You will laugh and be amazed! Feel free to bring your own drinks to enjoy during the show, food will not be allowed in the Ballroom during the show. is event will be stadium seating, there will not be any tables. Bring out your pups in their costumes for our annual dog costume contest. is year's Costume categories will be "scariest", "funniest", and "best overall." Every participant will receive treats, and the winners of each category will receive special prizes. Don't forget to register so I know how many treat bags to prepare. Two- legged friends who would like to attend need not register for this event. Come to the Ballroom on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 5 pm to enjoy a DJ, photo booth, charcuterie boards, and a signature cocktail. Get dressed up to participate in our costume contest; categories will be "Best Pair," "Most Original," "Scariest," and "Cutest." Bring your favorite snacks to enjoy this fun-filled community event.
