| OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2023 | 33
Fall is in full swing! ere's something about this season that
really brings out our creativity. Maybe it's the fact that working
with yarn, fabric and batting gives warmth, and that warmth just
feels better as the days and nights cool down.
Our October meeting will be a luncheon for our members, to be
held on Oct. 5 in Abravanel Hall from 11 am to 2 pm. If you have
not signed up and wish to attend, please contact Barbara Ott (626)
808-7080 to see if there is still space available.
October also brings our "free to members" classes. is
month we are offering a training session for the use of our felting
machines on urs., Oct. 19 from 9:30 am to 12 pm. We have
done several projects in the past using this process and are looking
forward to future classes. On Sat., Oct. 21 we will be making tree-
shaped wool ornaments from 9:30 am to 12 noon, and holiday
coaster ornaments from 12:30 to 3 pm. If you are interested in
attending, there will be sign-up sheets in the sewing room and
information on materials required for the classes. Don't forget
about our "rideshare" service to meetings and workshops that are
held in our Clubhouse. If you are interested in attending and have
no transportation, please call Sharon Philippe (760) 500-3086. We
have a list of volunteers who will be happy to get you to and from
the event.
If you're interested in just getting together with some smiling
faces, our Kneedlers (knitters) and Hookers (crocheters) gather
on Tuesdays from 3 to 4:30 pm and are always looking for excuses
to practice their knitting and crocheting, and to offer guidance.
Also, on Tuesday evenings (6 to 8 pm) and Fridays (12 to 3 pm)
several quilters, knitters, crocheters and sewers get together for
"Sew & Chats." Both of these gatherings are loosely structured and
help to keep us in touch.
If you are interested in participating in our activities and are
not sure who to reach out to for further information, please call
MaryLu Belisle (952)454-1931 for more information. Also, please
