FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2023 9 By Cindy Graves October is absolutely packed with entertainment! Let's start our October events run-down with the Handbell Choir Concert on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 6 pm. Come and hear the majestic sounds of the harmonious bells. Everyone is welcome to this Ballroom event and there is no cost to attend. On Friday, Oct. 6 at 6 pm, join Elizabeth and Phil Westbrook as they host a Latin Beats Dance Night at The Lodge. Feel free to bring your favorite food and drinks and, of course, bring your favorite dancing shoes. This is always a super fun evening and they always throw in some special added-value entertainment as well. Everyone is welcome and, again, no charge. Saturday, Oct. 7 is jammed with fun! Both the HOA Garage Sale and the Jazz Under the Stars Concert are happening on this day. Let's start with the HOA Garage Sale… you cannot believe how many treasures have been found at this deal-among-deals community treasure hunt! You will be awed and amazed to see what incredible things people are offering! Be sure to stroll around and find the thing that you didn't know you needed! The Garage Sale is from 8 am to 2 pm. Next, the African American Culture Club and the HOA presents the highly anticipated "Jazz Under the Stars Concert" on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 pm. Doors open at 5 pm. This year the concert will be on The Lodge Loggia instead of the Amphitheater. They will be using table and chair seating. Be looking for a Bistro special to go along with the event; it should be announced in the Daily Report and Activities Blast. If creating art is your thing, Rob Kelman is having another Paint Party on Friday, Oct. 13 from 5 to 7 pm in the RCN. Rob always makes it a lot of fun, and you are welcome to BYOB, since it tends to loosen up your painting hand and help you to feel more like an artist… some say. The price to attend (which includes, canvases, paints and all that you'll need) is only $25. Be watching for sign-up information on the Activities Blast or call Rob to make your reservations at (951) 616-4111. Our very first Four Seasons Oktoberfest is coming on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 5 pm. We've got the Craft Lounge sponsoring our beer garden, a Bavarian buffet, delicious hot pretzels with beer cheese or other dipping sauces, a gourmet caramel apple vendor, and all with the festive ambiance of our lederhosen adorned German Oompah Band. There are no tickets required but it is first-come first-served. Stay tuned for the Activities Blast and the Daily Report for more detailed information on the buffet. Saturday, Oct. 21 starts out with the Blessings of the Animals at 3 pm. Be sure to bring your beloved pet, whatever type it is, to get blessed in front of The Lodge Administration. Tails and Trails always has a good turn out so make sure your little companion, gets their rightful blessing. This is free and all are welcome. Karaoke is also on this same day at 5:30 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. Bring your special singing juice, a song or two and buddy-up with neighbors for this opportunity to see and hear your celebrity neighbors. Dave always makes this a fun time and everyone is invited! October is a great time to celebrate blood letting and there is nothing more satisfying than letting your blood go to a needy organization like Life Stream. The Blood Mobile will be at The Lodge parking lot. You can make an appointment with their upcoming appointment number. As the event gets closer we will advertise the appointment number on the Activities Blast. Finally, for Oct. 31 we have our Halloween Golf Cart Parade and the Trick or Treat Tailgate Party in the admin parking lot. If you want to be in the Halloween Parade, we will be lining up for staging at 4 pm, competition at 4:15 pm, and the parade starts at 4:30 pm. The Trick or Treat Tailgate Party starts at 5 pm. What is the Trick or Treat Tailgate Party you may ask? Well, we'll be having folks sign up for parking slots, either in the decorated golf cart section for when the parade is over, or in the regular resident parking slots, where residents can place lawn chairs and a table to be part of the tailgate party. We'll have a taco and churro vendor in the parking lot, a Mobile Escape Room, and DJ Dave with a dance area. Bring something to share with trick-or-treaters and bring a cup (for liquid treats) and a bag to hold your tailgate treats. Watch for more info on the Activities Blast regarding specific details. Hope to see you there! From the Activities Director
