FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2023 39 FS Veterans Park The club is languishing in enrollment. More veterans need to attend the monthly meetings and join if we are to transform our memorial park markers from rocks to tiles. The cost of the tiles is expected to be $25 for each member who wants one with their name and service. The rocks are going to be removed at that time. There will not be new ones or replacements as the paint fades. Weeds are growing amongst the rocks and signify a loss of attention by our members and their supporters. It is our park and we are expected to do our part by providing a long-term solution with minimal maintenance. Please attend the monthly meetings on the fourth Thursday at 11 am. ~ Len Tavernetti, ltavernetti@hotmail.com Members needed to help with park maintenance Community Garden Club The Garden Club is pleased to present the "Autumn Garden Dinner Party" on Oct. 20. Each guest will enjoy "small plates of two appetizers, two salads, two main dishes, and two desserts. Enjoy live music and dancing "under the stars" (in case of weather, event will be moved to the Ballroom). Tickets are $30 each and will be sold in The Lodge Lobby on Tuesday, Oct. 3 from 10 am to 12 noon and on Oct. 5 from 1 to 3 pm. After these dates, you may contact pwayne1@outlook.com to purchase any available tickets. Look for the flyer coming in the Activities Blast for more details. We want to acknowledge the amazing service of our Vice President Mona Swinehart who has ended her term and welcome Karen Evans as the new VP. We also want to welcome new members to the Garden Club Steering Committee – Margi Spies and Toni Madsen. Welcome aboard! ~ Pat Wayne
