| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2023 | 7 I got my tickets for Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute Concert for Oct. 14. I, along with other folks got there early in the morning and stood in line. (I am too old for this kind of stuff.) But, like many of you, I have done this oen. It was 1977 when my girlfriend (now my wife) and I took our beach chairs and a couple of six-packs and joined the line that encircled the theater to buy tickets to Star Wars: A New Hope — the line circled the theater three times. We started on the third line. (Wow! at was crazy!) It was a few years later that I camped out to buy a house that the plot of land the house would sit on was not even graded; and a few years later a fellow coach and I were drinking brewskis as he camped out in a pop-up for his house (that was crazy!). And, what about camping on Colorado Blvd. on New Year's Eve with our young kids hoping to get a great spot along the Rose Bowl Parade route (that was nuts!)? But we did it again, a few years later. en we partied into the wee hours of the Sunday morning for Super Bowl XI near the "big rock" at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. Not having enough, we did it again for Super Bowl XIV. Who would stand in line for tickets for a cover band? Well, it is all part of life's experiences. CCR (Fortunate Son) is going to be fun. Although it is a tribute band, the iconic music goes back to the 1969 Woodstock. CCR is a California band that influenced the Southern Rock experience with great hits: Born on the Bayou, Fortunate Son, Proud Mary and Susie Q to just name a few. CCR has great dancing sounds so we'll see you on the dance floor. We just finished five weeks of movies under the stars. It was the "drive-in" experiences of yesterday: moonlighted, clear skies, and cool evenings. We watched from our golf carts or sat on folding chairs and ate guiltless amounts of theater candies: red vines, Junior Mints, Red Hots, Whoopers, and freshly made popcorn. We saw and laughed to Bad Guys, Lyle, Lyle Crocodile, Free Guy, Guilt Trip with Barbra Streisand, and the movie Wild Hogs from the BillBuster Collection. It was a fun time. I still say we should have these evenings more oen. To prepare you, Nov. 4 is the Arts & Cras Show, where the genius of Four Seasons residents will be showcased. Like you, I am always amazed by the eclectic talents of the folks that live here at Four Seasons. On Dec. 16, amongst the Christmas Spirit, the Social Committee is raising money for My City Youth (Hemet) with a Holiday Home Tour. We are looking for neighbors who wish to share their decorated homes. If you are so inclined, please contact Mary Swinney at (714) 328-6426. In previous years, this has been popular and fun event for a worthy local cause. Coming soon… Bistro Special Fih Friday (Sept. 29), Wednesday Bingo Night, First Friday Karaoke (Oct. 6), Second Sunday (Oct. 8) Brunch at the Bistro, Creedence Clearwater Rival (Fortunate Son Tribute) Concert (Oct. 14), Music on the Plaza (Oct. 17): One-2-Many (70s to 90s hits, Blues, classic rock, new country, pop, rock and roll), Four Season Players Talent Show (Oct. 21), Open Session Board Meeting (Oct. 25), Bistro Special (Oct. 27), Golf Cart Parade (Oct. 31).
