8 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2023 | Library Committee Fall has begun, although we still have plenty of summer-like days. e leaves on some trees in our area are changing colors. en there is Halloween to anticipate. I appreciate that some residents still display Halloween decorations. Let's face it, it's always fun to dress up in costumes and have an excuse to eat some candy. Just remember that there is no eating candy or anything else in your Four Seasons Library! e library always is a great place to visit whatever the season. ere are all kinds of books — hardcover fiction (2014 – present) and nonfiction (variety of dates) — and paperback fiction books (2020 – present) from which to choose. Some of the puzzles in our collection are seasonally and holiday-based for your enjoyment. ey are all colorful like the fall! Current magazines oen feature foods of the season and home decorating tips for the holidays. ere is always something for everyone visiting the library, including our beautiful, complimentary 20th Anniversary of Four Seasons bookmarks. October is also the month with our next resident author's talk — Oct. 12. is much anticipated speaker presentation will begin at 2 pm in the Ballroom and last one hour with some additional time for questions. Cookies are available. e resident featured will be Roberta Feigenbaum, accomplished composer and film editor among other creative talents. Yes, a musician! Be watching for Lodge email blasts and fliers publicizing Roberta's talk. anks to Jeanne Lincoln for being our publicist for authors' talks. e Four Seasons Library Committee values our resident authors! ere is a special section on the le side of the library beneath the hardcover fiction where authors' works are displayed, oen with their pictures. Planning has already begun for talks next year. If YOU are an author of any type, please make yourself known to library committee members, including me — Betty Crase, Four Seasons Library Committee Chairperson. Speaking of the Library Committee, here are the names of the current, dedicated, hardworking, volunteer Library Committee members: Betty Barr, Blair Becker, Sue Corum, Betty Crase, Perjeah Dhevun, Shirley Etemadfar, Julie Kreun, Lynne Spreen, and Lynn Voorheis. If you are interested in joining us in caring for the library, please pick up an application at e Lodge front desk. Openings on the committee become available from time to time, and I would love to talk with you! ~ Betty Crase Facilities Committee e team of Facilities Committee volunteers is committed to ensuring that Four Seasons Hemet is a place of beauty, excellence, and safety. Our goal is to inspect, monthly, from a list of anything that does not grow within the confines of our desired community. is team from varied experiences and backgrounds takes great pride in thoroughly examining fences, buildings, and equipment; to name a few, that need repairs, painting, and upgrading. Four Seasons is our collective home. Just like our private homes, we strive to maintain the whole of our beautiful establishment with proper care and any and all needed repairs. We are not a private club. We always value and encourage input from our neighbors. Anytime a local resident sees attention that is needed in our facility, please submit your concerns to one of the members, or present, in person, the matter of interest at one of our two monthly meetings, held the first and third Wednesdays of each month. e more eyes on our neighborhood, the better it is maintained. Life brings changes in our personal lives. It also brings changes within Four Seasons committees. Members move, resign, or change to another committee from time to time. us, openings occur for this well-oiled committee, and we welcome new applicants on an as needed basis. Please consider becoming a part of this fine group of volunteers whose objective is to maintain, and enhance our beautiful Four Seasons. We work hand in hand to keep our community a beautiful oasis and envy to every current and future home owner of Four Seasons Hemet. Looking forward to your support as we grow and continue in projects that benefit one and all.
