As you can see, we have some pretty impressive artists. All
beginners are welcome to our class, and everyone goes home
with their very own masterpiece. Above all, we have fun. Our
August class enjoyed painting sunflowers!
is issue of e Colony News may arrive before our class on
urs., Sept. 28, which will be taught by our Master Painter,
Taka Ritchie. She will provide the paper for practicing Chinese
brush painting. is is always a popular class.
For our October class, we will be painting holiday cards and
is one you won't want to miss. Please mark your calendar for
ursday, Oct. 26, from 9 am to 12:30 pm. It will be the last
class of 2023, since the holidays fall so close to our class dates
in November and December and everyone is busy with their
own activities.

and then on Jan. 25, 2024.
Watercolor Classes By Sylvia Maxwell, 818-667-1766
Taka Ritchie is our artist for October. She is a self-taught
Master Artist whose paintings are sought by many. Taka has
oen taught our Watercolor class and continues to be our guest
instructor from time to time. She paints in both watercolor and
acrylics, and she is also a sculptor and a published author.
Taka has lived in e Colony for many years and has shown
her painting in various Murrieta businesses as well as exhibits
in our Clubhouse. In addition to enjoying art, she can oen be
found playing Mah-Jongg in the Card Room.
Please stop and see Taka's artwork on the three easels in our
Clubhouse Lobby. ank you, Taka, for your teaching and for
showing your beautiful artwork to us.
