| LIFE IN SOLERA | OCTOBER 2023 | 33 Unfortunately, tropical storm Hilary interrupted our "free" (to members) August Movie Trivia event, so we have rescheduled it for November. September's event, a wine tasting provided by Gerrards Market in Redlands, saw Sippers taste nine different wines. Along with that, cheese and crackers were provided to "cleanse the palate" between tastings. Some Sippers attended just for camaraderie and brought their own (non wine) refreshments. This is a good spot to remind everyone that if you enjoy fun and fellowship, whether you drink wine or not, you are welcome to join our club. This will be our October event: Polish your boots, break out your western duds, practice your yodeling, and come join us for a night of good fellowship and live entertainment for our October Western Event, to be held on Oct. 14. Please scrape yer boots before entering the Oakmont Rooms please. Wine fun fact: Are you ready for this? Kit Kat candies are now available in sparkling strawberry wine flavor, covered in white chocolate. Yes, they are available on Amazon in a variety pack. Ummm, you first. SOLERA SIPPERS + + This group is made up of generally men, but women are always welcome. Our focus is on conversation and friendship. We meet every Wednesday in the Clubhouse between 8 and 9 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. It is typically a group of 10 to 20 people. We are led by a facilitator who ensures that everyone will have the opportunity to talk and encourages conversation. We have very interesting and diverse conversations. There are countless benefits you'll enjoy by joining this group, and they can vary from person to person.
