| THE COLONY NEWS | NOVEMBER 2023 | 31 As of Sept. 28, only 16 games have been played by both teams. The top three teams are: First place: Ten Pins (Gloria and Steffan Carroll, Joe Roux): 14-2. Tie for Second Place: Hot Shotz (Olivia Perez, Donna Kennedy, Steve Austin, Frank Hattabaugh) and Game On (Norris Day, Andrew Sciacca, John Haller) currently tied at 12-4. Third Place teams, also a tie: Primavera Kids (Jay Schodrowski, Jamie Calvert, Gloria and Hank Fleischer) and Strikes Happen (Jim Wheeler, Beverly Patten, Ed Munroe, Jerry Hanson) both are 11-5. Some of the high men's scores so far are very impressive. Jay Schodrowski started his game with seven strikes in a row, then two open frames, then got a strike in the 10th, 11th and 12th frames for a 255 scratch. Only two strikes from a perfect game! Well done! On the women's side, Jerry Hanson shot a 243 scratch. Needless to say, right now Jerry has the women's high average of 172 and Jay has a 183. We had our October dinner at Richie's Diner on Oct. 20 and as usual, we had a great time. Bowlers of the Month for September are Jerry Hanson and Jay Schodrowski (see pictures below).
