27th Annual Craft Fair & Sunshine Bake Sale Saturday, Nov. 4, Clubhouse. You know you don't want to miss this! Be at the Clubhouse between 8 am and 12 pm for the annual opportunity to see and purchase lovely items designed and crafted by our own talented residents. This is a great place to pick up holiday decorations, food and gifts! Friendsgiving Friday, Nov. 17, 12 noon, Auditorium. Friendsgiving is about spending time and breaking bread with old friends and making new ones. Invite a neighbor to join you for this pre-Thanksgiving lunch with all the traditional fixings, catered by our friends at the VFW. Long tables will be set up family style and seats will not be assigned. Tickets are $15 per person. Holiday Home Tour & Marketplace Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 18 & 19, 10 am to 4 pm. The holidays are coming, and it's time for this annual event. There will be the usual bakery, bistro and boutique. Purchase tickets from Kara in the Activities Office for $40 or at the door for $45. Please make checks payable to Temecula Valley Women's Club. All proceeds go to various charities, including 20 high school scholarships. Dinner with Friends Wednesday, Nov. 29, 5 pm. Our favorite chef, Steve with Culinary Creations, is cooking up a great meal for you to enjoy at the Auditorium or to-go and enjoy at home. This month you will enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner! Tickets are $18 per person and must be purchased by Monday, Nov. 27. Bus Trip: Festival of Lights ursday, Nov. 30. Get in the holiday spirit at the spectacular 30th Annual Festival of Lights. There are over 3.5 million brilliant lights, animated elves and carolers that come alive! The Festival of Lights is one of the nation's largest holiday light collections, voted "Best Public Lights Display" by USA Today. Walk around historic downtown Riverside, shop and dine on your own. You also can take that special horse-drawn carriage ride! The bus leaves at 3:30 pm and returns at 9 pm. Tickets are $35 per person. Remember to dress warmly. Come to my office and purchase tickets as soon as you get your Colony News! Trim-A-Tree Saturday, Dec. 2, 1 to 3 pm. Attention all Colony grandparents! Reserve this date for our Annual Trim-A-Tree event in the Clubhouse Lounge and Atrium for all the grandkids to enjoy (and adults too). Santa and Mrs. Claus will make a special appearance along with their beautiful Elf. There will be face painting, refreshments, homemade crafts and tree decorating. Holiday Ball Saturday, Dec. 9, 6 to 10 pm. "The mood is right, the spirit's up. We're here tonight and that's enough. Simply having a wonderful Christmas time." We are looking forward to dressing up in our holiday best, dancing, and enjoying a perfectly prepared meal. Tickets are available now. You can look forward to entertainment from the big band sound of Persuasions. Culinary Creations is preparing a three-course meal, starting with plated appetizers, berry- pistachio spinach salad, and with an entree choice of Chianti braised short ribs slowly simmered to perfection in a luxurious chianti wine reduction; tender marinated seared chicken breast drenched in a luscious lemon thyme sauce, sprinkled with micro thyme and sumac; and a vegetarian option, quinoa, feta, and pistachio stuffed acorn squash. Paired with Boursin cheese infused mashed potatoes, roasted green beans with garlic, lemon, pine nuts and parmesan Reggiano and everybody's favorite Nothing Bundt Cakes. Tickets are $52 per person. BYOB. Santa Stops at the Colony ursday, Dec. 14, 5 to 6:30 pm. Santa and his carolers will make a stop at the Clubhouse! Meet your friends and neighbors around the Clubhouse Christmas tree and enjoy the holiday spirit with hot chocolate and cookies. Santa will be collecting canned goods and pantry items, and toys for Toys for Tots. New Year's Eve Party Sunday, Dec. 31, 6:30 pm to midnight. The Social Committee invites you to join us as we celebrate the new year with food, friends and fun as we say goodbye to 2023 and welcome 2024! Thomas Catering will provide an Italian dinner with chicken parmesan, fettuccine alfredo and dessert. DJ Nate will host a 9 pm as well as midnight ball drop, complete with a champagne toast! Dinner will be served at 7 pm, with late night bites provided later in the evening. Tickets are available now, $35 per person. BYOB.
