Tennis and paddle tennis, two wonderful ways to get exercise, sunshine and make new friends. There are many benefits of playing either of these sports. Stronger bones, reduced stress, cardiovascular fitness, weight loss and new relationships with your Colony neighbors. If you are interested in learning, please drop by the courts and we will get you started, or call John Knitter at 951 805-2456 for tennis and Karen Nichols at 619-550-8194 for paddle tennis. Get started having some fun, TODAY! The paddle tournament in October was hosted by Harriet Henderson, and her beautiful Halloween table was set up with an array of wonderful goodies for players and spectators. Tournament winners were Scott Daniels and Randy McKee, who were tied for the men's group. The ladies group also ended in a tie for winners Darla Gonzales and Karen Nichols. Our fun pairings were put together by Ellen Micheli. Thanks to all who took part and to all who organized this event! A small group of Colony Roadrunners braved the cooling nighttime temperatures (low 30s) and spent a few days enjoying fall in Mammoth. While we were a little early for the changing colors, we found plenty to do in the area. We started our first night with happy hour and an icebreaker game, and in the morning we enjoyed a group breakfast to plot our plans for the next few days. The group spent time visiting several of the lakes and attractions in the area. Every night we sat around the campfire sharing stories of the day. A special treat was celebrating Mike Adam's 77th birthday. All too soon, our time in Mammoth was over and everyone headed back home. Don't forget to mark your calendars for the annual Colony Roadrunners Holiday Dinner on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 5:30 pm.
