34 | THE COLONY NEWS | NOVEMBER 2023 | Ladies Golf By Judy Lebovitz, 951-461-0065 Our Charity Tournament was held the beginning of October with a lovely lunch celebration afterwards. The golfers were all donned in pink, and some had their carts decorated for Breast Cancer Month. Our thanks to Dennis Murphy, who took pictures of the players in the decorated carts and out on the course. Another big thank you goes to Randy Meyer for volunteering his paint and time to paint the restroom at the golf course, which was in dire need of freshening up. The tables were decorated beautifully with pink flower centerpieces made by Bea Brown and Karen Alonzo. Everyone got two pink ribbon cookies which were also made by them. We enjoyed a delicious taco salad for lunch, and some of our members' husbands tended bar. Representatives from our chosen charities, Michelle's Place and Hospice of the Valleys, were in attendance and told how their organizations operate. We were so pleased we could help support these two charities. The monies collected came from donations, bar tips and a 50/50 raffle. We are proud to have presented Michelle's Place with $2,150 and Hospice of the Valleys with $2,300. Each cancer survivor was honored with flowers. Everyone had a great time. The cooler weather should be more comfortable for playing. We start at 8 am through December.
