6 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2023 | Library Committee We are into the busy holiday season already — Thanksgiving is coming up and the daily countdown to Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and finally New Year's Eve continues. 2023 is going fast! One place that's constant in this hustle and bustle, however, is your Four Seasons Library. Thinking of the holidays, please put new books on your personal gift list. After reading them, consider donating them to your library for others to enjoy. The library has books, magazines, and puzzles for all seasons and holidays. Residents are donating new materials all the time, thank you very much! If you visited the library during the wonderful 20th Anniversary of Four Seasons celebration in September, you saw pictures of the growth of the library collection over the years, from a few books (then) to overflowing shelves full of books, puzzles, magazines, and audio books (now). There, literally, is something for everyone. Just so you know, hardcover fiction books are dated 2014 to the present; paperback fiction books cover 2020 to the present. Current magazines are three months for monthly issues and one month for weekly issues. Please use these dates when donating materials. The puzzle collection just keeps growing. There are seasonal and holiday puzzles available for your enjoyment now from 300 to 1,000 pieces. Please donate only complete puzzles; no one likes to work a puzzle only to discover it has missing pieces. If you happen to find one in our collection, don't return it. We hope you attended our outstanding October Resident Composer/Author's Talk featuring Roberta Feigenbaum. We value our resident authors/composers/poets. Planning is underway for new talks in 2024. Watch for Lodge email blasts, fliers, and Herald notices publicizing upcoming presentations. Definitely identify yourself to a library committee member if you are an author of any type. Also, check out pictures and publications of current resident authors on the shelves under the hardcover fiction on the left side in the library and the end tables next to the couch. The Library Committee has added two new volunteer members to its ranks. Sue Brockett and Irene Chapman are now working with Betty Barr, Blair Becker, Sue Corum, Betty Crase, Perjeah Dhevun, Shirley Etemadfar, Julie Kreun, Lynne Spreen, and Lynn Voorheis to keep the library looking and functioning at its best. Be sure to say, "Hello," when you see us. ~ Betty Crase Tickets are on sale Mon., Nov. 20 in The Lodge office. We will be hosting Four Seasons Biennial Holiday Home Tour on Sat., Dec. 16. We will be raising money for My City Youth here in Hemet. We would like to have two to three homes from each of our four areas – Masters, Championships, Legends and Invitationals. If you like the way your home looks after you decorate, please volunteer your home and share it with your neighbors. You can decorate two rooms or your whole house. Remember you can use your regular holiday decorations so you don't need to buy new unless you want to. This event is sponsored by your Four Seasons Social Committee. If you are interested in participating in this fun and popular event, please contact Mary Swinney by Nov. 15 at (714) 328-6426. Hope to hear from you. HOLIDAY HOME TOUR
