68 68 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2023 | | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2023 | Games People Play All are welcome to join in on an evening of games, fun, and music. We meet every Monday evening from 6 to 9:30 pm in the North Clubhouse. There are no dues or fees; however, donations are accepted and appreciated, but not mandatory. The games that we play are, Bid Whist, Dominoes, Chess, Phase 10, and Scrabble. We're pleased to have our very own DJ Rich, who's Oldie but Goodies playlist is second to none. If you're new to the games, no problem, someone will be glad to take you under their wings, so to speak. In no time you'll be up to speed. Just keep in mind that all of us were once new players as well. Come in to meet old friends and neighbors, or make new ones. You will be welcomed in and will feel at home before you know it. We look forward to meeting you. For more information, please contact Virginia Green at (951) 255-1545 or Cynthia White- Piper at (951) 906-7510 Do you enjoy playing the billiard game of 8 Ball? If you do, come join us. All Sun Lakes residents are welcome to practice with us Mondays through Saturdays. We normally draw for partners at noon, then play to around 2 pm. There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three-month season. Eight teams compete every Thursday; four at 9 am and the other four at 1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of friendly competition, come watch us play. For more information, please contact Tom Hyatt at (909) 908-7533 or email THYATTREALTY@gmail.com. Mexican Train Spin the Bottle (Formerly Strip Poker) This month, we meet all five Wednesdays in the Bus Room. Please arrive between 12:45 and 12:50 pm so we can organize tables for balanced play. Ideally we would like to have only five to six people at a table. The group is getting bigger, so if you have domino trays consider bringing them. If you would like a copy of the version played at Sun Lakes, send your request to cjdavis2504@gmail.com and one will be sent to you. For further info call, Paulie at (951) 550-2107. Join us Monday nights in the Bus Room for Spin the Bottle! We had to stop playing strip poker because the Bus Room air conditioning is too strong and many members complained and quit half way through the night. For those who don't know how to play Spin the Bottle, it's a very simple game. We start by drinking a bottle of wine, whiskey, or vodka (as selected by our Drink Master) and then sit in a circle on the floor. The bottle is placed in the middle of the circle and the Circle Master selects who will go first. That person spins the bottle in clockwise direction and whoever the opening of the bottle is pointing at can choose one of three options: get a kiss from the spinner, a hug from the spinner, or spend "seven minutes in heaven" where the two people go to one of the green rooms off the Ballroom and shut the door, staying alone for seven minutes being timed by the Timer Master. After six spins, we drink another bottle chosen by the Drink Master and have some snacks brought by the Amuse-Bouche Master. Then round two begins. We play five rounds of six spins each round. When we get more than 13 participants, we will start another circle. We are no longer testing for Covid but ask everyone to PLEASE gargle before the meeting. If you have any questions, call the Answer Master at (909) 797-3647.
