| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2023 | 29 Our Make 'n Take project for October was a lot of fun. We chose several different items appropriate to the season to decorate. Mostly pumpkins in one shape or another were bedecked in fall colors and enhanced with numerous embellishments. Everything looks better with bling! Some of the finished works of art are shown below. We will likely be doing something related to the holidays this month. There are endless ideas and projects available. Stay tuned! Our group was represented on Activities Day with a table staffed by Elaine Perkins, Debbie Brown, and Sallie Flesher. We talked to numerous interested people who were inquiring about our fun group. A couple ladies visited our table that have not yet purchased a home here in Sun Lakes but were scouting out all the activities available in our community to help with their decision on where to buy. What a good idea. The most frequent comment we heard was "Oh, I'm not crafty at all, I could never do that." Well, you'd be surprised what you can do especially when you have the support of so many other women. We all started as novices. It's fun to learn how to do new things and it's good for your brain. You can come and visit us during one of our meetings and just observe. It is free and there's no obligation. We're a very social bunch and the crafting part is just a byproduct of our group! In November, our meeting dates will be Nov. 6, 20, and 27. No meeting on Nov. 13. The first Monday of the month, Nov. 6, we will be in the Bus Room, then the remaining two Mondays we will meet in the Multipurpose Room. All meeting times are from 1 to 3 pm. Our fun monthly birthday luncheon will be on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 11 am in the Atrium. Please contact either Elaine Perkins at (951) 334-3119 or Sallie Flesher at (951) 902-9768 for more information. Paper Crafting Sun Lakes Mudslingers We meet every Wednesday from 3 to 6 pm and Fridays from 9 am to 12 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. No prior experience is needed. Month-to-month sign up is allowed, so no lengthy commitment. We do have space limitations though. Right now there is room for a few more budding artists. If you ever wanted to play in the mud or learn to use the wheel, now is your chance. The cost is $70 per month and includes all supplies and materials needed. Just bring yourself and have fun. Try out a new hobby with very little expense and no new "stuff " to store. For more info, email Camille Meldrum at camille. meldrum@gmail.com.
