32 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2023 | Sun Lakes Follies Happy Thanksgiving! We are very thankful to have received so many wonderful compliments and were able to see our neighbors at our show How Do You Get to Carnegie Hall? Practice! Practice! Practice! From our home to your home, may you and your family have a very blessed Thanksgiving! ~ Joanne Graham, Follies President REMINDER FOR SUN LAKES FOLLIES MEMBERS: Our general meeting will be held at the South Clubhouse on Thurs., Nov. 16, at 1 pm. See you then! On Nov. 12, the Friendship Club presents "Rhinestone: The Songs of Glen Campbell" starring the distinctive voice of Nashville singer/songwriter Andy Kahrs. He'll be singing Glen Campbell's enduring hits like Wichita Lineman, Gentle on My Mind, By the Time I Get to Phoenix, and Rhinestone Cowboy. All-in-all, Campbell tallied five Grammy Awards, three Grammy Hall of Fame honors, 27 Top 10 singles, 21 Top 40 hits, nine No. 1 Country albums, six Top 20 albums, and three Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. He is a 15-time CMA Award nominee and two-time winner. Kahrs was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and has never strayed from the soulful bends and warm twang of the music that sparked his desire to pick up a guitar and start writing music at age 15. Now, comfortably based in Nashville, a seasoned blend of blues, country, and bluegrass can be heard in his recorded music and live shows. Sun Lakes residents are invited to join the Friendship Club and enjoy Vegas-style entertainment up close and personal. Membership fee is $30 per person for the year.
