On Sat., July 29 the SVD Pickleball Club held its Summer
Tournament. ere were 16 club members who participated in
what is called a mixed tournament. ere were eight men and
eight ladies. Each player played seven games with the top two
from the men's side and the top two from the ladies' side playing
in the championship game. is year's tournament was won by
Tom Baker and Cindi Buck. Runner's up was Scott Harrington
and Gay Smead.
In the group picture are those who participated in this year's
summer tournament: Linda Weiss, Tom Baker, Suzette Strauss,
Shirley Ferrruzi, Gaye Smead, Yolanda Funes, Cindi Buck, eresa
Moreno, Janet Davis, Neal Anderson, Tom Ritchie, Chuck Orrico,
Bob Porter, Dennis Kaye, Richard Clarke, Scott Harrington,
a special thanks goes out to Keith Davis and Louis Cherpin for
helping with the scoring and making sure everyone was hydrated,
plus we appreciate all those who came out to cheer for those
playing in the tournament!
