'Tis the season to be jolly! Yes, can you believe the holidays are here? This is the time to celebrate with friends and family … camaraderie, GOOD HEALTH, love, and lotsa laughs. Come join your friends at Social Singles on Dec. 15. As always, Thomas Catering will be serving a wonderful holiday dinner with ham with fruit sauce, or chicken Marsala, yams and scalloped potatoes, green salad, green beans, and cheesecake for dessert. When you put in your reservation for dinner, please indicate if you would like ham or chicken. If you do not, you will be getting ham. Dinner is $20 for members and $24 for guests. Dinner reservations and checks (made out to Social Singles) should be dropped off at Kymm Terlau's house at 5871 Brookside, by Thurs., Dec. 7. They're back! Yes, our wonderful couple, Punch & Judy. They will be singing their hearts out, and we can sing with them or dance. How much fun is that? We will also be having our monthly drawing for a $10 gift card to the Sun Lakes Restaurant. Membership dues are $15 per person for the year and are payable in January. If you join now, there will be no charge for the month of December. Make checks payable to Social Singles and drop off at Kymm Terlau's house. Once again, our Dueling Pianos was a sold-out event and boy did everyone have a fabulous time. Thank you to Theresa Van Haren and Shannon McKinney for helping with this event. We still need your help with 2024 events. We are looking for people who want to take charge and host one of the many event ideas we have already scheduled. If you have a new idea for an event, please contact me at (951) 202-8009 or email me at crystalwater@dc.rr.com. December: Dark Jan. 28: NFL PLAYOFFS & Chili Cook Off in the South Clubhouse. Cost is $5 per person. We will have prizes for the best chili. Please bring an appetizer to share if you are not bringing chili. Come root for your favorite team. BYOB and glasses. You may drop off your checks at 4713 Skyview Circle. Future events for 2024 (still need event coordinators) Feb. 17 : South Clubhouse (need ideas)/possibly a Hockey Game at Acrisure Arena March 17: South Clubhouse St. Patrick's Day event April 6: North Clubhouse (comedy event) May 5: North Clubhouse (Cinco de Mayo golf event) June: Corn Hole Toss Tournament (date and clubhouse TBD) Don't forget, your dues are due again on Jan. 1. For those that just paid at the activities day, your dues are good until December 2024. Remember you must be a member in order to attend any of our events. Dues are still only $10 per person.
