To begin our celebration of Hanukkah, please join us in lighting the menorah. We will light the menorah on Dec. 7 at 4:45 pm in front of the Main Clubhouse. There will be brief prayers in observance of the actual start of the holiday. Beginning with the ancient Israelites, the light of the Torah has guided us throughout our history, including through many dark times. Please join the YCC as we close out the year with a huge celebration of Hanukkah catered by Sherman's Deli & Bakery – deli sandwiches, potato salad, potato latkes with applesauce and sour cream, coleslaw, pickles, and jelly donuts. For entertainment, the Sun Lakes Playhouse will present two short plays: e Oily Miracle of Hanukkah and e Not So Odd Couple. We will hold a Hanukkah Harry White Elephant Grab Bag. Bring a tchotchke from your home that you are willing to give away in the hopes of getting another tchotchke that you don't need or want. This will be fun to see who gets the best (or worst) knick knack. Let the fun begin! Cost is $23 pp member/$28 pp guest. Payment due by Dec. 1. (You don't even have to be Italian.) Join us for great music, games, dancing, themed decorations, a full meal, and of course, wonderful fellowship around the table. Members and guests are permitted to BYO/beverages, with coffee/ water provided. Club generally meets the first Friday of each month. The next events is Fri., Dec. 1 at 5:30 pm in the South Clubhouse, for a memorable Christmas evening with music by Jamestown. Members and guests will enjoy a delicious, meal with shrimp cocktail followed by prime rib with all the trimmings. Come dressed for the holiday and enjoy the wonderful evening with themed decorations by Peggy Knox and her great committee. All this for just $30 pp. Sign-up deadline will be Nov. 27 at 4 pm. If you want to sit with a special friend or at a specific table, please note on the envelope when you drop your check, made out to Paisano, off to Barbara Jesus at 540 Pine Valley. Memberships for the entire 2024 year are just $30 pp, and due by Jan. 15. Make your checks out to Paisano Club and drop off at 540 Pine Valley. Guests may try the club for one time without paying the membership fee and just pay for the dinner, presently $30 for Christmas and $25 for February through November 2024.
